URGENT!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!! We are in a really tough spot right now. We have a total of five dogs that are, or were, on borrowed time. As of right now, I have pulled two (Bella and Silver) and they are safe. Macey is still at Animal Control and needs to be out FAST. Then there are the two others, Buck and Pepper. Two beautiful black labs that were owner surrenders and BOTH HEART WORM POSITIVE! The need out by tomorrow. As of right now, we have $2,200.00+ in the fundraiser. We have just shy of $1000 from our Christmas fundraiser that was being put away for a rainy day. Well it is a rainy day. So with what we have raised and the Christmas fundraiser, we have enough for Bella, Silver and Macey. We are going to pull Macey right away and get her to our vet’s office. Buck and Pepper are the issue now. Both are heart worm positive. We are looking at $1000 EACH just in vet fees and boarding while being treated. I can only plead so much with animal control to hold a dog from being euthanized. I have asked animal control to extend our rescue hold until Wednesday so we can raise the funds. I have personally donated $500. So at this point, we just need another $1500 to pull the remaining two. I know some of you may be thinking, just pull the dogs and figure it out later. We can’t do that as that is how so many rescues end up in trouble and have to close the doors. When I started The Joshua Fund, I decided that we would run it like a business, as all rescues should. Decisions were going to be made using business logic, rather than emotion. Over the years, my methods and decisions have worked. I understand that January is a tough month with the holiday bills rolling in, heating bills, taxes, etc. If you can spare a few dollars to help us get the remaining two out, we would greatly appreciate it. This little organization that was started with a coin drop box on the counter of our store has grown beyond belief and expectation in the last two years. We have MANY great things on the horizon for 2015. We are working on several partnerships that will help us generate even more funds. Funds that will save even more lives. Together, we can do this.
