US Activist Jesse Jackson Urges ASUU To Have A Rethink And End Strike Rev Jesse Jackson United States Civil Rights Activist and President of the Rainbow Push Coalition, Rev. Jesse Jackson has urged the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to have a rethink and end the strike. Jackson made this call yesterday as he arrived Abuja, to deliver a Keynote address at today’s inauguration of former Federal Commissioner of Information, Chief Edwin Clark Foundation, which will take place at Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel. Abuja. Speaking with Journalists at the International Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Jackson who hailed chief Clark for coming up the noble initiative of setting up a University of Technology in his native home, Kiagbodo at 86, however hailed President Goodluck Jonathan for creating such an enabling environment for a dream of such to be realised. Jackson was received at the airport on behalf of Chief Clark by Senator Bassey Henshaw, former member, Federal House of Representatives, Cairo Ojuogboh; Chief Richard Lamai; member Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Executive Committee, NEC, Mrs Ifeoma Agbomah. At the Asokoro residence of Chief Clark to receive Jackson were the Publisher of Vanguard, Mr. Sam Amuka; former Minister of Police Affairs, General David Jemibewon; Senator Chris Ukpabio; Ambassador, Dr.Bolere Ketebu, among others. President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to serve as the Special Guest at today’s event, the formal launch of N25 Billion NAND fund raising dinner for the proposed Edwin Clark University of Technology, ECUT, Delta State and the Edwin Kiagbodo Clark Centre for Youth Orientation and Development, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, just as former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon will chair the event.
