✱ ✱ ✱ US Downgrades India’s Safety Ranking! ✱ ✱ ✱ The US Federal Aviation Administration, conducted last year an audit of India’s aviation regulator and came up with 31 areas of concern that include better recruitment and training of professional and technical staff. Taking actions post this, the FAA downgraded India’s safety ranking. ‘They have downgraded us to category 2, which is very disappointing and also surprising,’ Indian Aviation Minister Ajit Singh is reported to have said in press conference at New Delhi .As per Mr. Singh, 95% of the issues raised by the FAA were resolved and the rest were to be taken care of by March. The downgrading will result in Air India and Jet Airways being restrcited to increase flights to the US.
