US Navy Captain(retired) and former Director of our Armed forces Retirement Home Here in Gulfport Mississippi Jack Zink, We Would like to Thank You for Your 24 years of Outstanding Honorable Military Service to and for Our Country. As AFRH-G Director from 1998 to 2003, and Under Your Leadership, Your Primary Concern Was Our Residents, their Quality of Life and their living Conditions, Medical Care, Safety, Security and their Overall Welfare. Great improvements in Every Department Were Instituted Under Your Direction. Morale Among the residents and Staff rose to an all Time High. You preferred Action rather than Talk and Action You Got With Great Respect. During Your military Career You Served Tours in Europe, Central America, the Pacific, With Multiple Tours in Continental United States, Which Included 4 Years at Our Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport. Your Awards and decorations include Legion of Merit Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal and both the Humanitarian and Volunteer Service Medals and many other Commendations and Citations. Also, after your retirement, You continued to serve our Coast as Executive Director of The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission Resulting in Great Improvements and Recommendations for Improvement to our Mississippi Gulf Coast as a Licensed Architect with Degrees in Architecture and Engineering. Personally, and Having Served Under Your Command at the AFRH-G, I am Proud to Have Been Able to Have Served With and for You. I Was Unable to Find a Photo of Captain Jack in Uniform, but I am Sure Everyone Remembers that Smile, and His Beautiful Family (Jonathan has grown !). We Thank You Skipper.
