USATF Georgia News & Notes - 12/14/14 USATF Georgia Delegation Attends Annual Meeting December 1 - 5, 2014 Anaheim, CA 16 members of the USATF Georgia Association traveled to Anaheim, CA the week of December 1 through 5th, 2014, to attend the USATF Annual Meeting. Once a year delegates from all 57 associations attend the annual event to hear about the state of the organization, meet with USATF Board, and attend various sports and administrative committee meetings. Every year the governing body takes time to recognize its athletes, coaches, officials and vast network of volunteers who represent USATF at the local level. We are excited to report that this year Georgia was recognized in many ways. Administrative Awards Horace Crowe Award - Awarded to a Top Association Administrator Inez Finch, President - USATF Georgia Most Improved Association (out of 57 Association) Georgia Andy Bakjian Award - for outstanding effort and achievement: Dick Moss, Official Dr. C. Harmon Brown Award Sports Medicine and Science: Dr. Amadeus Mason, MD (Emory) Athletic Achievements Master AG Athlete of the Year (55-59) - Ken Youngers Masters LDR Hall of Fame - John Tuttle Jim Thorpe Award (Field Events/Decathlon) - Christian Taylor Elected USATF GA Athletes Advisory Chair Dwight Phillips elected AAC Committee Chair.
