#USLA National Lifeguard Championships Virginia Beach @ A Glance - EAST COAST Watching Tropical Storm Bertha Friday Aug 01 - A frontal boundary lingers over much of the EC for the weekend. This will keep small but locally fun windswell in the water on Sat/Sun, strongest towards the Outer Banks. We are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Bertha, currently tracking through the eastern Caribbean. We are expecting a possible fun sized increase in swell for much of the EC early to mid next week. Small windswell mix is on tap for FL for the weekend and into early next week. While this wont be significant it will put more surf in the water than what we have seen over the past several days. Beyond that we will be watching for swell from TS Bertha. Windswell/swell from Bertha will continue to impact portions of the Caribbean during the weekend but look for the surf to fade as the system moves past your respective region.
