W. E. (Bill) Hart December 11, 1922 - August 18, 2013 W. E. (Bill) Hart, age 90 of Fort Worth formerly of Houston and Temple, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Sunday, August 18, 2013 at an Arlington hospital. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Young officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 9:00 – 11:00 AM Wednesday prior to the service. William (Bill) Earl Hart was born December 11, 1922 in Temple to William Earl Hart and Era Lee Cooksey Hart. He attended schools in Temple, but graduated from Austin High School in Austin in 1942. He served in the U. S. Army from 1943-1945. He was in the 2nd Infantry Division and fought on D-Day at Omaha Beach, and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a POW in Belgium. He received three Bronze Stars, Distinguished Unit Badge, Merit Service Unit Insignia, EAMET Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was in the U. S. Army Reserve from 1945-1950 and the U. S. Air Force Reserve from 1950-1953. Bill married Rita Frances DePriest June 1, 1946. They had one child, Frances. Rita Frances preceded him in death in 1960. He married Louise Dawn on November 30, 1961. She had three children: JoAnn, James, and Bobby. Bill and Louise had one daughter, Annette. Louise preceded him in death in 2008. He worked for Tenneco Oil Company from 1958 until retiring in 1985. Bill and Louise retired to Temple in 1985. He moved with his daughter Annette and husband Jeff to Fort Worth in 2011. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple from 1985 until 2011. He joined Handley Baptist Church in Fort Worth in 2013. Bill taught Sunday morning Bible study for over 60 years. He was a prayer warrior and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. Survivors include two sons, James Dawn and Bobby Dawn and wife, Melody and three daughters, JoAnn Dawn Stanley and husband Robert, Frances Karonika and husband, John and Annette Kristynik and husband, Jeff; 11 grandchildren, Jason and wife, Kim, Eric, Joyce, Jennifer and husband, Lee, Mark and wife, Lesley, James, Justin, Dustin, Summer, David and wife, Christina and Paul and 17 great-grandchildren,Bella, Shaw, Devon, Delaney, Abigail, Michael, Amanda, Carson, Caden, Jaelyn, Camryn, Kellan, Kyndall, Trinity, Talon, Celeste and Dawson. Donations in honor of Bill Hart for the scholarship fund at Second (Indianhead) Division Association, Inc., P.O. Box 218, Fox Lake, IL 60020-0218 or back-to-school supplies and clothing for students at Raye-Allen Elementary, 5015 S. 5th St., Temple, TX 76502 or the back-to-school event sponsored by Temple College Foundation, 19 N. Main St., Temple, TX 76501.
