Uganda vs Madagascar Lessons to learn. Let me take this opportunity to congratulate the Uganda Cranes for the game against Madagascar, however there are a few issues I like to highlight about that particular game and the Cranes team in general (1)- First I find it surprising for some football fans to put the blame for the Cranes loss to the FUFA president Eng Moses Magogo. World over if a national team or club looses a game the blame entirely falls to the coaching staff and players. So in this case its not the Fufa president that chooses the team or determines who plays or doesnt base his role is basically over seeing the activities of the whole federation. However in some cases in the past like before the Cranes and Kenya match when the then Fufa president personally ordered the suspension of David Obua from the cranes camp but according to my reliable sources Eng Magogo hasnt in any way interfered in the cranes selection. (2) Lets look at the players, honestly if you are a one Wayne Rooney playing for England against say Moldova every one expects you to score similarly we expect the likes of Okwi and Kizza to score against the likes of Madagascar. (3) But even before we blame our players, honestly speaking in the last ten years how many genuine talents with top notch technique has Uganda produced? Am not talking about good players base we have plenty of those like Okwi, Baba Kizito, kizza ,Hassan WASWA among others I mean genuine talents like the likes of Fred Tamale, Willy Kyambade , Phillip Obwinyi, Robert Mukibi Hassan Mubiru among others so if we dont have classy players how do you expect cranes to be winning every game. That brings me to the issue of our local coaches who must strive to groume our players from one level to another. With my own experience when I left Dairy fc in 1995 to join Express fc I was a pretty decent player but with in two years at Express FC under coach Popadic I had improved to become the fastest and one of the best defenders but if you look at players Odu, Hassan Waswa, Okwi, Kizza among others how far have they improved in the last five years? thats my question for you reader. NB please come in big numbers at Nambole for the return leg Uganda vs Madagascar Cranes name mutima
