Ugh. I cant believe Im asking this, but I dont have the time to test it out. I need new tires for the RS wheels. My first set were 215/40/18s, and they fit well plus dont rub unless Im loaded down heavily in the rear of the car and hit dips in the road. However, its easier to find 225/40/18 tires at a much cheaper price than 215/40/18 tires. I know 225s will be slightly taller and 5mm wider on each edge of the tire, but I am concerned about rubbing issues with 225s. So, who has put 225/40/18 tires on an 18x8 42et wheel? I want to hear some real world experiences. Saving the money with an easier to buy tire is great but only if I wont have major issues since I drive so much. If I need to, I can raise my coilovers up some, but Id prefer not to do that. BTW, this image is a decent rear shot showing how flush the wheels and current tires are.
