Uh oh, Derpy Eye!!! Just got him this week and upon observation I noticed that the eyes are uneven because the head/face is a separate top surface attachment which is masked on top of an assembly which contains the inner mouth attachment. I believe the eyes are glued and assembled underneath the surface of the top head assembly. This explains the why the eyes appear to be uneven. Even though SHMA has an excellent quality concept of how they construct their Godzilla figures which is somewhat similar to the Hot Toys line of DX figures, (minus the access of eye rotation), the assembly applied to this particular figure was somehow poorly constructed during production which as a result, produced the Derpy Eye effect on this figure. In my opinion, I believe that this particular figure lacked the necessary size to accommodate such an application since the eyes are extremely small. I feel that a larger scale version of this figure similar to the size of the Neca 24 HTT figure, would have been better suited to accommodate this particular application because the design of the eyes are totally smaller in ratio compared to other Godzilla designs. Im not too pleased with the paint application on the eyes of the Neca figures either. Even though the eyes on the Neca figures are more bright and vibrant and pleasantly accurate in scale ratio, Godzilla does NOT have slit pupils. What a bummer! When is somebody gonna get it right???
