Uhm....no, this is not the best 4 minute speech. First off, her numbers are probably overblown, possibly as much as by a factor of two in terms of percentage of world population Muslim who are Jihadist. AND THEN theres those who are Jihadist by belief, and those who are Jihadist by training and indoctrination. Like ANY..... any of the Big Three (Five, really) religious systems (Buddhism, Hindi, Judaism, Christianity and Islam) the MAJORITY? Are a lot more like most of the Christians you know personally. Enrolled in a church they attend on important liturgical calendars/family milestones, know the rituals by rote, know the church leaders but not all that well, know some Scripture, try to lead decent lives and keep their head down when it comes to religious debate or insertion into secular society. NOTHING wrong with that, really. Even the more devout of my friends who practice religion are by no means extremist either in their faith or secular representation. The fraction that are extremist (I would categorize Westboro Baptist Church---the God Hates Fags guys---to be in that category) Christian are about on par with extremists in any of the others. Im conservatively guessing no more than 7 to 10% TOPS, and thats the combined extremism of extreme belief and those with the belief plus training and access to materiel. So theres that. But then this woman trots out an incomplete list of Big groups of otherwise peaceable folks with the naughty minority who managed to take over and do bad things. Nazis, Soviets, Chi-Coms, etc.... That one always gets me because NOBODY who uses that lame argument of why its OK to hate based on faith issues..... nobody seems to include Americas involvement (along with France, UK, Portugal, and SPAIN) in the singlemost largest genocide ever perpetrated in human history: the eradication and subsequent (and continuing) Apartheid against Indigenous Persons of North and South America. She doesnt mention the centuries auld Apartheid and genocide of the Sami (Laplander) people living above the Arctic Circle in Scandinavia and far NW Russia whose history is very similar to the Plains Indians (switch prairie for glacial tundra and bison for reindeer and its about an 80% match) No....... this is a good roughshod steamroll over a single persons question..... but she probably wouldnt have been so vehement if it were a man asking the question from a group of say, nine or ten traditionally Islamic clad men. Im shocked the audience didnt launch into a YOU ESS AY at the end. But this isnt the Best 4 Minutes Speech
