Agreements with Albury City Council (ACC). The revised draft Heads of Agreement has been returned to Council for further amendment as not all changes agreed were incorporated. Signing of the Heads of Agreement would be a significant milestone and media opportunity. It is expected that the transaction documents, relating to the loan, the lease and sale of the aircraft, would be signed soon afterwards. 4. Legal Structure No further developments until Heads of Agreement is signed. 5. Board Albury City Council have agreed to be a nominating organisation and will appoint a Director when the next round of Council committee appointments is decided We therefore have the 6 directors required to incorporate the trustee company. Once established, the Trust will be open for membership by way of subscriptions. Members will then be able to nominate additional directors. 6. Restoration Hangar Council has agreed to the proposed site of the restoration hangar. Eslers are donating survey work in relation to the lease and development application. Plans have been forwarded to Brian Maginnity, Magibuild, for costing. 7. Strategic Plan To this point the focus of activity has been on legal documentation and the initial Board members. One of the first acts of the new Board will be to adopt the strategic plan. 8. Conservation Management Plan No further report received. 9. 79th Anniversary The proposed speaker has not been able to commit to coming this year as our legal structure was not in place in time. Plans for a formal dinner have been shelved. Albury Aero Club and Friends of the Cumberoona are coordinating events for the day, to be held on the southern apron, next to the proposed hangar site. Signs BY Knight have donated a sign for the site. Pieter to liaise with the company. There has been an enthusiastic response from the vintage car community with 20-30 cars expected. There is a unique opportunity, before restoration work starts, to recreate Uiver on the runway as formed by cars in 1934. 10. Any Other Business The meeting was told of two elderly residents of Albury, Mrs Butt and Mr Miles, who attended either the landing or the next day. It is important to speak with these people to record their stories. Noel Jackling has had a story published in Holland Focus magazine about the connection between the Rotary Clubs of Albury and Leeuwarden initiated by Alf Waugh’s visit. The publisher has indicated they would be happy to receive progress reports on the restoration of the Uiver for inclusion in future issues. Meeting Closed: 7:30 pm Next Meeting: 25th September. 6:30 pm at the Albury Club.
