Ujue kwa maombi yako nitasimama tena Ujue kwa maombi yako nitabarikiwa... I made it! After 2 straight day typing and writing-and let nobody imagine my one hand typing is disability! My hands invincible! Ill make a monument to u of these fine days when this country will recognise pwds by granting us a Disability Corner! :-D l sincerely never imagined voluntarily sitting up the whole night when lm not in a kesha! And then getting an hour and a half sleeping and operating sanely the whole day. Ei! Nyar gi Omondi,am nt a joke yawa! Am indeed a daughter of people! Nyar-gi-wegi! I know Baba u r looking down at me v proudly, smiling wide as u say,NYAKOLONGO! Yes Baba,l dedicated my work to u Baba, mama,my dead bros-Michael Osimbo Koteng (1984) and Richard Owino Koteng (2006). Though gone, ur names will live forever in the halls of UoN,Center for Translation and lnterpretation. Amen. Not forgetting the man,a true tested and tried friend, who has walked the talk, all these decades, one very proud of me always(cant believe am real at times. He he he!),the one who encouraged me to start off my academic journey, was there for me throughout my undergraduate journey as u chauffered me to wherever l needed to go,being my errand boy(such a great man running errands for lil old me! Wow!),always there waiting at the Easy Coach office when l came back to KU, picking me by 4am when college closed to make it for the 7am Easy Coach, sourcing for funds all over the globe,my mentor Duncan Wainaina Gichia,l celebrate u! Would l have made it thru course-work without my 2011/2012 classmates? No,l wouldnt! This is the ungarnished truth! When there was no other way, you literally carried me,wheelchair and all,to our 2nd floor class 4 times a wk for a WHOLE YEAR! At times Man Njoro ud be in diabetic throes and yet wld still insist on doing ur part...Nuhu Bakari, still carry me up or down while on ur fast and having nt eaten a thing the whole day...the whole class stopping whatever lecture going on when am late and coming down for me-no wonder Proff Okombo nicknamed me Wangu wa Makeri! Ha ha ha! Great flitting images... Gerry Nganyi,my bro of my Ulemavu tribe, when l needed u u came right away with all the technical help l needed. My thesis was acceptable coz of ur input. Kesharing with me,unable to eat supper till 4.30am and u wondering how u can rarua kuon at that time! Am looking forward to when ul just visit so l fete u! I thank God for such bros like u. Am blessed! Remembering the last strike in KU when u and others to spend the nyt in my room at Lukenya 4 coz u had bn run out of ur hostels bt ud also heard that Kili was going to be torched and were concerned abt whatd happen to me in such an eventuality. How u guys checked out and found a possible escape route thru the toilets and a glass door in case of fire...how one of u slept on my wheelchair(!),one on the big wooden sanduku in my rm...and we survived! Kili stood too. The other night insisting that since u type faster,l just dictate or read out as u typed away!(not sure if l forgive u for writing idea as idear!) Having someone to appreciate Leviticus(Tim Jolawi) choice of equivalences in Dholuo/English. Youll go far owadgi Matendechere ma ja-Unyore,okew jo-Ugenya! So my thesis,or dissertation as Gerry insists, was submitted yesterday and duly signed up by 9.38pm by both Proff Jayne Mutiga and Proff Okoth Okombo Mwenyewe! Yes! My supervisors are proffesors tupu! A sign of where lll end up?! Amen? Are those congratulations l hear? Accepted o! Tee-hee! I was back in Macha by 11pm and am slept up now. Am amazed at what God do. I want to declare that this far, He has enabled me. Hes been Ebenezer. Hes brought the right people my way to fulfil His purposes even if at times letting them go had bn painful. But lve learnt that some pple are allowed in our lives to fulfil some purpose for that season of our lives then they go. Whats reassuring is that God will bring them when u nd them. Am learning to let go when their season ends. So we defend our theses on 30th and 31st October. Still covet ur prayers. The graduation shall be sweet! I look forward to it! I now understand why some scholars insist on being addressed by their titles-they are earned o! After my Dec graduation l will be Koteng Suzanne Z, B.ED(ARTS),M.A(TRANSLATION). Note the punctuation please! They are very significant. And if u call out my name, they must be mentioned...! Getting tempted to add KU to the first part and UoN to the next...ha ha ha! I rest my case. Going to soak myself at Gods presence the whole day and get my stressful wounds healed by His embrace. MATECO weekend challenge is on. God bless u all and have a great long weekend like l will! :-)
