Just talked to Dr. Stewart and Dr. Boyle. Transplant is complete and the new heart is beating. Everything was going really well until they closed her chest. Her numbers started dropping and they worried she might need ECMO. They decided to open her chest back up. The heart and her body were and are happier. She will have her chest open until at least Monday. The heart she received was a bit bigger than her old one so they believe that giving her body time to get rid of some of the swelling will help. It is going to be a few hours before we can see her so we are trying to figure out someplace to get some sleep. I will post more later today. Please continue to pray for Hopes recovery. She has a very long road still and we could use all the prayers.
