Umar (RadhiAllahu anhu) was reported to have said a Man with his Wife should be like a Baby but when he is called to a duty he becomes a Man and attends to his affairs. The home should be where the Man takes off his stern exterior and he relaxes, he lets his hair down (figuratively) and he is sweet, friendly, playful. the Man should have a Wife who is able to race with him, a Wife who feels able to joke with him, the Husband should be the Best Friend to his Wife, but when the need arises he is her Defender, her Protector, her Maintainer. The Wife should dazzle in her home, after the Hijab, Niqab heavy hot clothes, the home is where she relaxes, she takes off her external garments and wears the clothes which is for her Husbands eyes only, home should be where she feels most at peace. The Children should enjoy their home, they should love their Parents, they should feel able to access their Parents and should not fear their Parents, kisses and hugs should be shared by the entire Family, a Woman should not fear to hug her Husband and a Husband should love to kiss his Wife. Discipline will exist as this is a deen (Islam) which has criteria and boundaries, but the ideal Muslim home is Peaceful, Happy and the center of it all is the Love Of Allah. May Allah make our homes like this. Amin
