Unbelievable. I hope Atlanta doesnt pass a similar city ordinance - or our homeless ministry outreach team might need to raise some bail money! We are commanded to love one another - to be the hands and feet of Jesus - and to make disciples of Jesus Christ through sharing the Good News with a lost and hurting world. I choose to follow our Lord and Savior - His instructions are clearly written in the Bible. “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40 NIV) “If you have two coats,” he replied, “give one to the poor. If you have extra food, give it away to those who are hungry.” (Luke 3:11 NIV) Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble! Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you shall be as bright as day. (Isaiah 58:10 NIV) If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. (1 John 3:17-18 NIV) Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. (1 Timothy 6:18 NIV) It is as the Scriptures say: “The godly man gives generously to the poor. His good deeds will be an honor to him forever.” (2 Corinthians 9:9 NIV)
