Unbelievable!...The expert consensus now is; They might let me go home with a brand new controller that has obviously never alarmed before and we will wait and see if it ever happens again. It will probably not cause the pump to stop if it does. My answer to this was, If Thoratec are so excited about these new controllers and their ability to detect driveline issues before they become to severe, why then are they not trusting the accuracy of mine if they designed this to specifically detect problems?Why build this into them if it is going to be ignored when it does what it is apparently designed to do? and why did they want me to come into the hospital in the first place? They sent me another controller, so why didnt they just tell me to chance it? what is different now?.The only change between now and Friday night is that the alarm has stopped. It still went off on 2 different controllers didnt it? If Thoratec isnt confident enough in this equipment to pay attention to it, then it shouldnt be out and being used by us LVADders.Tomorrow I will talk to my surgeon and get his opinion. Still not happy with the lack of answers here.
