Uncle Journalist late S. Anai Kelueljang wrote in his book -- The Myth of Freedom and other Poems that: Only because I do not complain Nor conspire against so and so, You think I am harmless worm Living for my own sake? Only because I smile readily, And do my work obediently, You think I am so happy Not knowing that the tooth is only a bone? Only because I talk less about What needs our politics must meet, You think my head is vacant of ideas And I am no more than a mere follower? Only because I am pruned to emotion Knowing how mad it is to over-excited You think I am a stone, And do not feel the pain of my people? This book was first published in 1979 by Sudans Southern Regions Department of Culture and Information, but was suppressed by the Security forces within a few days and has not been available since. I got this copy from my village man Mr. Manyang Agany Manyiel of Maleng-agok Payam in Rumbeck East County. Thanks Manyang for keeping safe this valuable book from one of our heroes of the then Sudan. Thanks late S. Anai Kelueljang. Your writings (books) and struggles have shaped what we called South Sudan today. Your brother and icon late Dr. John Garang knew you well and your contributions to the struggle of Southern Sudanese in 1990s, when he sought your release in the hands of our former ruthless Khartoum regimes, thus, you went to UK where you died peacefully. Readers late S. Anai Kelueljang died in 1998 in London. He is being survived by sons and daughters. Late S. Anai Kelueljang comes from Lakes State Central County of Rumbeck. I challenge every South Sudanese (sons and daughters) to putting down experiences as late S. Anai Kelueljang did. Thank you all for your time.
