Unconditional Basic Income, is the way forward, to replace the - TopicsExpress

Unconditional Basic Income, is the way forward, to replace the benefits system. It is affordable & with more jobs becoming automated in the future it will help to deal with this problem. Crap jobs like call centres where folk have to put their hand up to use the loo & are given inhumane long hours & targets, would have to treat their employees better in order to retain them. I dont agree with everything the green party propose, for one they want to bring in compulsory smart meters. I for one dont want one of those things in my house, & will vandalise it if Im forced to have one; but aside from that the green party is the only party offering the sensible idea of a universal unconditional basic income. It could be covered by the money spent on our current benefits syteem, only problem is cost of housing in Britain, which is ridiculously high at the moment, so would need extra funding for housing costs, but the money could be raised for this by ensuring big business pays their fair share of tax & clamping down on tax evasion & taxing things like bankers bonuses & their financial transaction costs they charge us, known as the Robin Hood tax. Some people argue noone would want to do menial jobs anymore, I think people still would, cause they will want the extra money so they can save up for things; however, this argument is no longer valid, as menial jobs will become a thing of the past soon, as all these jobs are set to become automated in the future.
