Understanding the Holy Spirit and His works” #105 What are the works of the Holy Spirit in general, and particularly in the believer`s life. Dear Friends. We have said that the Church has conspired with the world to betray the Lord`s plan for His Church. What does this mean? To begin to answer this question we have to recall again what we have said in chapter 4 and 5 of the Gospel of Saint Mathew. In chapter 4, we have said that every Christian or anybody that has responded to the Gospel message of the Lord Jesus will go through a test as God`s own screening. And it would be how well the person has done through the test that would determine what kind of ministry the Lord would assign to the person. Then in chapter 5 after listing all the “Moral Codes” known as the “Sermon on the Mount” which the Lord Jesus had presented as what every believer should be expecting or be accustomed to: We said that the primary concern of the Lord Jesus concerning this “Moral Code” is to see that every of His followers had achieved HAPPINESS in the midst of chaos. Now, since this question, what does it mean that the Church has conspired with the world to betray the Lord Jesus` plan for the Church has come so soon, it will be good for us to pick up one or two key words in chapter 6 of the same Saint Mathew`s Gospel because what we will get there will be connected with chapter 5 which had raised this very question. 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof (Mathew 6:20-33). The one reason why we have to go to the chapter 6 is that the whole Gospel of Saint Mathew was a single book until it was divided chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Now again, and with all what we have been saying that Christ Jesus` intention for the Church was to raise up a New Family that will spend eternity with God when His Kingdom comes: And by backing up this truth we could see that every of these “Moral Codes” has a reward, it is either that one will inherit the earth, shall see God, shall be called the child of God; or shall be filled with righteousness because the Kingdom of God shall be ours. We had asked your permission to seek more information from chapter 6 because the same teaching based on rewards had continued there, if we are to do what God had required from every one of us. Here we can see the Lord Jesus speaking out, and saying that where one`s treasure is, there the person`s heart will also be. One cannot serve God and money. And in verse 33 He made it clear that when one finds God the person will find every other thing. The question now is, why are we not teaching the people every of these “Moral Codes” that will prepare them for the Kingdom of God if we are not betraying the Lord. Why is the Gospel about money, and how to make money which has been contrary to the message which the Lord Jesus had left behind? Who can tell us one reason why people are been disappointed in religion today? Why are the people having the feelings that God cannot be found or that God is so much delaying in answering prayers? Is there any of these questions here that cannot prove how great distance that we are from doing what God`s intention was? The answer to these questions is that we want God to do what we want when we cannot do what He had required from us.
