Unemployment in Sittingbourne and Sheppey is still falling, however, we are not complacent. We know that many of the jobs that have been filled are part-time work, which might suit some people, but others would prefer full-time work. There are more jobs in the pipeline, but sadly many of the people who are currently unemployed do not have the right skills to fill the vacancies. With those two factors in mind my team and I have organised the 3rd Annual Swale Jobs Fair, which once again will be held with the help and support of the local JobCentres. The Jobs Fair will be held at Swallows in Sittingbourne on the 24th September 2014. This years Fair will have 40 exhibitors. There will be a number of companies offering jobs, but there will be a concentration on apprenticeships, skills and training.
