Unfortunately one thing cold weather brings with it is my reporting of coop fires. (The fire reported below is not specifically attributed to a heater but it is electrical in nature.) Many people feel that they must heat a coop to keep their chickens warm and comfy during the cold winter months. Heating a coop is dangerous and unnecessary. A well insulated, draft free coop will help keep your flock comfortable during the cold winter months. Our new CoopTight™ (chickenfountain/cooptight) can help you limit the infiltration of cold air, trap natural heat and allow your birds to come and go freely from the coop. Dont love your flock to death by heating your coop....
