Unique is the single most devastatingly bad word that you can use - TopicsExpress

Unique is the single most devastatingly bad word that you can use to describe a house. A truly unique home is hard to compare to its neighbors (for obvious reasons), difficult to price (as its hard to compare), and nearly impossible to sell (because the odds of finding the perfect fit for that home are low.). The house I inspected today was not unique. In fact, it was a well-maintained Depression-era colonial on a wooded lot. Quite lovely. Unfortunately, said wooded lot sits in the middle of ten square miles of a late 60s Levitt development, and is therefore unique in the context of its town. You have to look for this place to find it, which is a death sentence in the real estate world. I have to explain the full implications of that to a bank in Texas. In 2000 characters or less. Challenge accepted. :p
