Unstoppable Comics stands on a platform of Diversity, it does not - TopicsExpress

Unstoppable Comics stands on a platform of Diversity, it does not matter if you are black, brown, yellow, red, or white. We are going to do our best to represent as much as we can, and at the same time still make comics fun, enjoyable and exciting. I remember when I first started doing cons and people asked me what I was doing, Id say Im bringing color back into comics, and not just in the costumes. After seeing some of the interviews, I thought I looked like a carnival barker and sounded like a dick. In my head I saw a different vision of myself and thought I knew what was right and was going to change things, but just came off really arrogant. To be honest here, I grew up in the 80s and loved the Avengers and Justice league (still do no matter the faults). We were poor and a comic was bought second hand at a bodega for pocket change. There were no comic shops between East New York and Bushwick at all and the bodega never got consecutive issues in any story. Even back then I noticed that none of the characters looked like me, my family, or friends, but that did not bother me much because I still bought Captain America, G.I.Joe, X-men (the Australian issues were badass, I dont care what anyone says) Batman, Dr.Strange/Cloak and Dagger (yes they shared a comic) Hulk, and Teen Titans. So what Im trying to get at now is, when I make comics, I try to make sure that I put in characters for the kid who is picking up a book for the first time and says wow, he looks like me. Im not trying to sell a line anymore, just trying to tell a story. If you want to know more about Unstoppable Comics, contribute to it, spread the word, or talk about what it was like reading back then, go to the website unstoppablecomics or send me a message here. Ill even email you a copy if you want. -Jay
