Untitled (2000) I fell from the tip of a seraphims wing a drifting floating frail feather swaying to the melodies that they sing but I am not heavy enough to measure like they I am not heavy I am not heavy with words like those heavenly bodies be I am not heavy but dark and I am no longer a part of a divine souls flight because once I finally touched the ground I knew both wrong and right Some might say Now I have been corrupted but I just think my grace has been interrupted by this brief and trying test just another revolution on my ascending quest and the words I speak pour from my shifting soul their escape is seemingly steady and I realize that no matter how deep I am I am not heavy I am not heavy with metaphors or soliloquies but the words I say I send them on the breeze to embellish what others see So if only for a moment they might think like me I am not heavy as the songs they sing and so their spirit raises me I am not heavy with epiphanies just a prisoner of gravity the Earth, her atmosphere weighs on my heart measuring me in pounds while in heaven they do not weigh your worth but praise you for your sound It seems my destiny to fail in this world where the coin sides are not of equal weight Where I am either the producer or the victim of thoughtless acts of hate Maybe our final destination is success but I think its only a diversion weve created So that we could strive for something out of sight because Ive seen that success in life doesnt always mean youre doing something right I am not heavy but I reach deep into the shallowest shores in my mind and the more I try to search for truth the harder it is to find I am just here, like you and Ive decided to give my heart to better days because its the daily decisions of our lives that give us good or evil ways I wonder why we look to the sky to see Guardian Angels under cloudy cover Why do we search for something we cannot reach when we could be angels to each other?
