Unusually, Peter was not only a racer but also Norton’s Race - TopicsExpress

Unusually, Peter was not only a racer but also Norton’s Race Department’s Chief Engineer; he won the TT in 1973 riding a bike of his own design and is still the only man to do so since the 1930’s. Peter’s engineering designs gave him an advantage on the race track and set the trends for what motorcycles are today. He was one of the first to design and race with disc brakes, the first in the world to design and use cast magnesium alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. The 1973 John Player Norton ‘Monocoque’ incorporated all of his previous experiments and the first twin spar frame. Now exactly four decades later, the VERY limited edition JPN Replica will celebrate and commemorate Peter’s legendary victory.
