Up coming boosters elections public meeting To all... I have received numerous questions, concerns and complaints at times , and I have expressed every single one with the boosters board. Instead of me trying to track all 12 parents / families who came to me, since summer, I decided to send out a letter here to try and help. I have answered the ones I knew, helped explain why or what..and also told you or forwarded you, whom with to speak. I have been told by the boosters that they will not change the date of this meeting. The meeting will be held on CHS campus in a larger classroom TBD, on Tuesday Oct. 4 th.. but maybe a larger room at Toyon would be better suited as it is a more central location? If you wish to vote, We can come late to the meeting. Those working the county polls on this night, I do apologize for this conflict and hope you can still help out. I have been told that every position on the board is a one year term. So essentially ALL positions will be voted on. Some current members are not returning for this upcoming year, and others wish to remain. I also have been told that new positions will be created as to help with the over all tasks needed. I know many of you want to help, and the boosters at times have felt they needed more help as well. So this is a win win situation. I want you all to understand it has not been the desire of the boosters to shut out folks or to exclude others. All parents and yes even players are encouraged...even parents of seniors I encourage you to attend to become more informed and also I do not believe you must have a current player on the team...?? I want to assure all of you...we are all obviously here for one thing.. Your sons...so I encourage you all, to get all your questions and concerns answered.. For example..who is in charge of ___? Meetings being public? Where and when are they? Why do we need more money? Where does the money go? Where is the gear that was promised ? Etc. etc. These members have worked hard with numerous volunteer hours...I believe they have set the foundation for a solid future non profit status. The work on the chicken dinner, and the raffle fundraiser was long and they did a terrific job. I look forward to new members and hope that all of you get the answers you desire. Even if you have no desire to be a booster member, this will be a very informative meeting. I was asked just about two years ago by Joe and Marianne Rodriguez to help them get about 3 or 4 new parents of up coming players in the program that I knew and or felt comfortable with to help us pass the baton...It has grown from there... I hope all of you will attend this meeting so that we can all work together and improve upon the foundation set. Folks we cant do this alone, and we ALL need to be informed and gain new ideas with fresh perspectives. We will be facing more challenges to support our athletic programs..and any and all help is encouraged. I also encourage our bilingual parents to notify all of our parents so that we ALL can gain a better understanding. Meetings are generally monthly....and hopefully we can get some guidelines or job descriptions too. This way you can decide if you are available to help. Thank you, Colleen Kelly
