Up early..remembering momma this morning on the day of her homegoing service. I remember her doing perms for folks in the kitchen, I remember fixing up bags of candy for the kids on her school bus every single year for Christmas, I remember keeping her toenails groomed and painted the entire time she was sick in case there was another hospital stay: they had to look good!!...I remember when she would put a shoe under dads fitted sheet on his side of the bed, and when he would lay down, the choice words hed use cause he would have to get up to move it, I remember mom getting a 2X4 out of the shed and ALSO putting this under the fitted sheet on dads side to get yet another awesome laugh, I remember while she was sick, the hundreds of episodes of house hunters we watched while enjoying that time with each other, I remember running into someones bumper at JD cause i was hollering at a friend behind me and wasnt paying attention and mom helped me hide it from daddy for a LONG time...and when he finally found it, she told him someone had backed into me ; ) , I remember her driving to all my basketball games in my McCall days and thinking it was awesome cause she was always there, I remember the smile she gave me and Sharmon coming off that ambulance the night before she passed like she was ready to rest and she KNEW the care shed be given there, I remember years of her giving to us when she DID NOT have the funds, I remember when momma took her very last breath and kissing her face and holding her hand so tight and praising God in my heart cause I knew at that moment what she was seeing and her tiny body had finally received its healing she so desperately deserved. Folks, love your mommas every single waking minute you have. Give them your all...theyve given you thiers thier whole life. Love them with your whole heart, kiss thier face every chance you get, hold hands with them and talk about old times, fix them breakfast..make them coffee..take them a frappe...these are the precious memories along with thousands more that I am so thankful to have had time for while my momma was sick. We covet your prayers today as we lay granny Fayes earthly body to rest....God bless you all.........
