Up until now I have been silent on the upcoming game between the Hogs and the Horns. I have witnessed several of the games, but I wanted to share my favorite memories of the 3 wins I have seen, in person, against the Evil Orange Empire... 1971- The game was a beat down by the Hogs. It rained most of the game. As we walked back to the car after the game, we happened upon a convertible car, from Texas....they left the top down. Inside the car was about 8 inches of rainwater. Im sure their ride home went from bad to worse. 1979- Bobby Bell and I went to the game together. We were both on crutches. The Hogs won a thriller, 17-14. Our vehicle was parked at the Black Angus, right across Markham from the stadium. We were calling the Hogs as we crutched our way back to the car. 1981- Wow... The game where the ARKANSAS...RAZORBACK cheer started. I was the chairman of the campus Beat Texas Week activities. Lou Holtz spoke at the pep rally. One of the coolest things was that we had a few visitors from the Phi Kappa Psi chapter at UT stay at the fraternity house Friday night. They got up and went to the game. They were supposed to spend Saturday night. When we got back to the house, there was a note on the door. It read something like this... Sorry brothers...the burden is too great to bear. Were going home Obviously, the post game activities on Dickson Street are legendary....but I WAS THERE!!! While waxing nostalgic about these games, I have awoken several memories and feelings. Those feelings start with... 1. I HATE that stupid song of theirs. 2. I HATE that awful color of orange. Go Hogs!!!! Beat the infidels....
