Up until now, only those closest to me have known, but in June I was diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, an autoimmune disease. Its caused some very hard, painful days and Im still learning how best to cope with the symptoms. Im not asking for sympathy, but instead bringing it up for awareness. The most frustrating part is that you can look fine on the outside but hurt everywhere at the same time. I pray my girls dont ever have to deal with this. I am also beyond thankful for my understanding husband, friends and family who have been a tremendous support. You all know who you are. With this disease, one day youre fine and the next you can hardly move. Theres no warning when a flare is coming except for some common triggers like stress. Today, Im limping around the house. My joints literally feel like theyre pulling apart and the inflammation saps all my energy. Alex Lewis has been amazing at reminding me to keep my faith and pray. Today, Im thankful for him and his continued love and support. In sickness and in health.....I love you.
