Update 2 pm Thursday. Spoke to li on way to bay bay again. Di, Selyn and Christine ok. Neil jake walked back to tolosa and miracle noe met him on the road as they were going toward palo to check with cito. Many tears for sure. Julie Marie ok as far as li knows as m has just run a feeding and so has telegrafo. Just rice porridge but all very thankful for something in their childrens stomach even though they are so hungry. One of the children in the telegrafo feeding died yesterday. She says not confirmed but lack of food and severely traumatised was the diagnosis. Palo have food and can get limited supplies. Cito got the money from western union as he was able to get to Cebu. Leslie still trying ,she will ask the bank manager in bay bay today. No electricity in sthn leyte . Tacloban in complete lockdown curfew 6pm till 6 am, army is trying to get order. Looting, shooting. Chaos. Supplies are being flown in constantly they are clearing debris to try to find bodies and clear roads, restore cell towers and working as fast as possible on restoring power. Tan aunt pastor ok, his family sent to nava and also vadens the men staying to work with the memebers. Li s family had conference and decided to stay and help the members rather than run to hills for safety. They would rather be together as the children are already traumatised enough so better they work through with them to build strength within them. Snakes are a problem at night. Lindy had one crawl on his shoulder last night they killed it in the dark. Li is trying to get kero today to make kero lights for night. Micah has a bad rash from the mud water, which is infectedpray this goes as it is very difficult to live with. Nancy nening has infected cuts on feet that arent getting better only worse. Safety is becoming a huge issue with people from other towns coming to tolosa and looting. The car had a knife put through the tank and all diesel drained. They were able to fix with some wax stuff and got fuel from a very kind man. So many miracles. They recovered the motor bike washed up and have drained the oil and re done. It is working. They got 1 litre of fuel. The oil tub that was in the store room had been thrown to the corner and as it was still sealed they had oil. The kids when they were clinging to the rafters in the flood, were crying and noe asked why are you crying, they said they were worried for blue tooth and flash drive. Both dogs by some miracle escaped and returnd home. The kids are so happy. The dogs are starving but loved. They are protective of the house and kids, so li is glad as this alerts them of intruders. They had another signal 3 all families at the back have decided not to build there again as the children are too traumatised. All are living with li. No sleeping with stretched legs yet. Palo has about 20 now as people dribble back to broken homes and put up tarps or bits of tin. The rain is still happening, li said yesterday they had 3 patches of sun for about an hour each so they were able to dry some sheets. Still smelly and muddy but dry. They have all been collecting from wash up from the sea and now have enough dented pans and cutely and plates to suffice for now. There were 2 white fellas washed up yesterday but they dont know if they were from tacloban or local. I will write a succinct email for enews this evening at work at present .my team have been wonderful to allow me to take the phone call and send this as they know everyone is waiting. Jess, I have asked li to check with ps. Re Leo, and to see if she can get info for Lilongwe re the tacloban kids from anyone. She will try to contact you if they can get electricity to charge phones and be able to buy chargers. They grabbed the phones and passports but forgot the chargers.
