Update: 47 days. 67680 minutes, and for you mathematical geniuses out there, 4.061e+6 seconds. This is the amount of time Katy has been waiting, in a hospital bed, for her lungs to make their grand entrance. Some wise man once said: no news is good news, and though we agree to a certain degree, we also have to politely disagree. Our news is, there is no news. Katy continues to sit in her hospital bed and hope that her lungs are on their way to her. She has good days and, very understandably so, really rough days. Breathing is becoming increasingly more difficult for her, which contributes to her pain, and she spends most days nauseated. We arent sure that we have shared with you, that Katy relies on her g-tube for 100% of her nutritional needs at this point (keeping in mind, in order to be a candidate for lungs she has to maintain her weight). We all know its easy to smile in a photograph, and we all know Katy is a fighter and even at her worst will still tell you she is fine. If you walk away with anything today, please know that Katy is fine, and although there is no new news to share, we hope that you will do your part by becoming an organ donor, and encouraging your friends and family to do the same. As always, we hope you will keep Katys future donor in your thoughts and prayers, and that theyre enjoying all of the little moments with their loved ones, until it is their time to save our Kate. #OOMPHFORKATY #ORGANDONATION #CYSTICFIBROSIS
