Update: Chance has had his first Christmas and I think he enjoyed - TopicsExpress

Update: Chance has had his first Christmas and I think he enjoyed it. We live next to the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta, GA and we jog/walk there every day along the National Recreation Area where he gets to meet tons of other dogs and people... unless its pouring out. Everyone wants to stop and love on him. Hes a rock star there. We get in anywhere from 5-8 miles of work-out and hes only complained once after the first 7 mile jaunt. Ill slow it down for him if need be. He is now approximately 6 months old... maybe only 5&1/2 and he is one delightful puppy. He gets a special chef homemade stew mixed into his puppy kibble and I make up a 1/2 gallon or so each Sunday and that is incorporated into his kibble. It would be something we all would eat but I eliminate the onions, garlic, mushrooms and spices we would want since they arent good for dogs. Christmas dinner he got a NY Sirloin strip steak (bone in, of course)!!! I used it as a training aid to get him to do some new stuff! I know, Im a meanie!! There was some conjecture as to what he is since he was a rescue and housed at a shelter in California. I can tell you that I have some experience with GWPs and they are built differently from Chance who is stocky and walks like he wants a tremor to rattle beneath his feet. He is developing a thick, musculature that is pure Griff, IMO. He is the cock of the walk at the recreation area but he is also the friendliest of dogs, doesnt bark and loves everyone (and their dogs)... and everyone... I mean EVERYONE... just adores him. Im one lucky person!! Hes also a bit of a chick magnet which doesnt hurt. What amazes me at this point in time is that he can be a total puppy in appearance and demeanor one minute and then look like a much bigger dog and be sedate the next... just have to stretch him out and tire him out. My many thanks to yall for your interest and support for Chance and the breed as a whole. I am so blessed!! His coloring is morphing slowly but surely into what may become a salt&pepper with some chocolate on his head and beard. Check the pics. Click on a pic to get the gallery. The last two pics were the early days! Ive now had him 6 weeks!!
