Update: I spoke with KPD today and was informed that the internal investigation of officer Carey has concluded and they found no wrong doing on his part. I am disappointed but not surprised in the least. Cops protect their own and are systematically released of wrong doing for much more violent behavior than I experienced. So now I will assess the situation and figure out my next move. I have contacted the Mayor of Kenton and am awaiting his call. I will also look into filing a complaint with the Attorney General of Ohio and possibly other government agencies. I am also still on the lookout for a civil rights attorney or firm to discuss a possible civil rights lawsuit against the officer, KPD and the city of Kenton. Once again, thanks to all who have sent me messages of support and encouragement over the past weeks.
