Update: Mike is doing well. He finally has a room assignment, they were able to get the entire mass without nicking any pancreatic tissue. The mass was adhered to the small intestines, but they were able to separate it without having to remove any portions of the intestine. The largest incision is about 8-9 cms next to his belly button. Hes pretty uncomfortable, but is coming out of loopy land. He wont be going downstairs tonight to see the babies bc hes pretty sore. Maybe in the am, but well see. I dont want him pushing it too much. Maddy update: Madelines UA came back clear, but they did go ahead and run a 48 hr culture on it. Her temp is still up and down though. Highest was 101.8. They went ahead and started an IV with antibiotics (Gent & Amp) just in case, they dont want to wait it out. They are not concerned really with the possibility of RSV or flu, as there are no respiratory issues, coughing, sneezing or congestion. Lungs are completely clear sounding. There is something going on bc her CRP (C-reactive protein) is double the normal, this is a test that tells us if there is inflammation somewhere in the body. However, they are running a spinal tap this evening, just to make sure there is no meningitis. Its extremely unlikely it is meningitis, but theyre being extremely thorough bc she has been doing so well and its just odd that she has this fever out of nowhere.
