Update: TommyJ had a really good day today, Mommy and Nana Di went early to spend the day. Mommy was able to hear the update as Drs made there rounds to hear the progress, and the next steps in TommyJ road to recovery. In rounds Dr says xray showed that lung looked better, and labs were showing no infection so she stopped all antibiotics. Dr thinks that since TommyJ is up to full feeds of 18cc every 3 hours, he is digesting his food but is not fully releasing (pooping) it out. Dr saw a lot of gas and build up, which in turn maybe causing pressure pushing on the diaphragm, which in turn is pushing on that lower part of the lung and not letting it expand completely. Dr ordered gentle laxative, and TommyJ was able to relieve himself. Mylee our favorite nurse was with him today, and we like when shes working. TommyJ ventilator was able to be weaned down to lowest settings, which means he is breathing more and more in his own. Tomorrow his central line will pull taken out since he is no longer on any meds. Another xray will be taken in a day or so to see his progress. TommyJ knows what he can pull with Mhylee, when Mommy first saw him this morning he was hanging off his pillow. Mhylee got him all tied back down, confined, and had to do it over and over again. He is a mover, and gets very upset when hes not how he would like to be. Daddy came in the afternoon so Mommy could go and pay respects to a sweet little boy. Baby Davaughn Saldana-Curry was born on Oct 23rd, just a day before TommyJ and went to heaven with his angels. We were able to become friends with the family as we were all in the same place, at same times daily for 3 weeks. My heart hurts for Ciara, and her family but we will continue to pray for them daily that they find peace. TommyJ will always be reminded of Baby Davaughn and his family.
