Update: We are now playing the waiting game. Our local MPs have written a letter and submitted to the Cabinet Minister earlier this week which outlines the illegal nature of the Home Office decision. They are breaking EU laws, UK laws and US treaty laws (US is a reciprocal nation so many rules apply there too) We also sent all the evidence asked of us AGAIN to prove Ceilidh is my daughter (Duh!) and must live with me. Also included were dozens of letters from my friends in support of my staying and which also outlined the preposterous nature of their illegal ruling and refusal of my residence application. Ceilidh, Matt and I also wrote letters; very strongly worded indeed! So now we wait. In the meantime, I have also lodged a formal appeal which will be heard in court. After I receive an acknowledgement letter from the court in Liverpool, I should be allowed to go back to work. Technically, the Home Office say I can return to work now but Im waiting for that letter because we all know they lie a lot and I do not want to get my employers into any trouble. These past two weeks off work certainly have not felt like the holiday it should have been. Poor Ceilidh will always remember Easter 2014 as the second worst holiday. In 2009, when the Home Office first tried to deport me, it was just prior to Christmas. I wonder what holiday they will try to ruin in the future? Yea, Im feeling a bit sarcastic today. At any rate, we did have some fun together: a day in Edinburgh earlier in the week, walks on the beech and she has spent some days with her pals. Three of them will be staying over tonight so that is a perfect distraction for her. So now we wait. I must thank all my friends for the wonderful support. Letters come through the post every day and e-mails in my box so all will be saved for the court appeal. So, if you have not yet written a letter, please do so. Yes I have dozens but the more we bombard them in court the better it is for us. I am going to push to have my legal fees reimbursed so the case must be made very strongly. Also keep sharing this page as the more likes we have the better. Commenting on the page also helps as it further proves that public opinion should be considered over bureaucratic idiocy. Thanks also to the local press. They have been great. We also need to get this national but because of the political implications, BBC are reluctant to mention it. Im still working on that of course and will be making more phone calls and e-mails today trying to get this heard internationally. It is an international problem because there are thousands of families around the world who have been separated by the Home Office illegally. We need to start a revolution and this is the time. If I can see a few more families reunited after all of this it will make the struggle all worth it. This started off being just about keeping me in the UK with my daughter and partner but I now see the problem is so much bigger than us. My heart hurts for all the other victims of the Home Office. Ive ranted long enough. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and please keep sharing the page and commenting.
