Update: Well, I made it through my first week of work. I wanted to share some of the highlights with you. I have had an interesting, challenging, exciting, happy week! I have to say this is another rewarding job... You all know how patriotic I am…I have never held a position where I have had the opportunity to work so closely with the Veteran’s Hospital. Just another thing I can add to my resume while working on my career. LOL - I had just told my hubby my dream job would be to work with “Wounded Warriors.” My dream job has arrived…can you see the tears of joy on my paper here? My first day, I was able to help one of residents with pain. The next day, working on getting things approved from the VA for another resident. I have informed them I will be there voice to get them what they need. When I showed up at work today, one of my little Veteran’s open the door with a big smile and said, “Good morning, I am so glad you are here,” (now that should make you feel warm and fuzzy.) Yes, my passion is the elderly and having so many Veteran’s in my community is my bonus! I will never forget the sacrifices they have made… My heart is singing tonight! Thank you God for this opportunity you have given me.
