Update from Joeys surgery -- I got the pathology report back today. Not good news....its definitely melanoma. We go back in for follow-up/stitches removal on 7/11 @ 11a. Well know what the action plan is at that timing, but the nurse said at the very very least, hell have to have full body scans at the dermatologist every six months with focus on site where the surgery was, and he must wear sunscreen if he leaves the house. So if this is the worst of it, Im grateful. But more definitive answers to come on the 11th. She did tell me that it is very rare for a person his age to get this, but obviously not impossible. I am thankful that Dr. Tate told me that he got it all after he finished the surgery while Joey was in recovery, so I take some comfort in that. Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate them, and I know Joey does as well.
