Update from Karen: Ellie had a scan on her legs today as the skin - TopicsExpress

Update from Karen: Ellie had a scan on her legs today as the skin on the back of her right leg from knee to ankle looked quite red. They scanned for fluid and clots and didnt find any. She will have an operation tomorrow morning on her hip and right knee and do a quick biopsy on her right elbow which may or may not need opening and cleaning again. The infection and swelling in her left knee has gone down. She had a echocariogram and is seems the infection is gone from near her heart. She moved out of the ICU into the High Needs ward which she shares with five other children. Karen says its nicer to be around other families, and the decorations are much more child friendly. The other bonus is that right next to her spot is a door to a lounge like area where Karen can sit and have a cuppa, while Ellie can still see her. She cant wait for Uncle Craig to get back which should be any minute now. Speaking of the rugby, they had a fantastic game and with a score of 14-20 they still managed to get through to the semi finals, which is so exciting. The crowd was fabulous, probably the biggest turn out this season. Anton was absolutely stuffed after the game, and no wonder, hed given it his all. Guess who was named Player of the Day? Congratulations, Anton, you deserve it. (beautiful trophy too!) Next update midday or later tomorrow after Ellies surgery. Here some more pictures of the helicopter transfer, catching up with Uncle Craig, and the ruggers. Thanks everyone for your continued support. They couldnt have done this without you! Keep em coming!!
