Update from Pastor Kim in Kenya whom I had stayed with: Kindly let Seth know that his dream of serving God through football is becoming a reality. You may not be here with us, but we are co-laborers and partners in serving Christ, together with all women and men of goodwill who cry to God for the redemption of mankind... May the Lord richly reward you... This launch event will be graced by the FKF leadership, county governor, senator, and all the political elite; and we have been granted 100 percent rights to preach at the event: we are now the official church of FKF events. We are very excited about all these developments. Kimalat and City Carton have a potential for a church run day care service; where we intend to provide the children with fortified ( vitamin and nutrient enriched) porridge, at 10am and 3pm; and also hot lunch of rice and beans daily. With a budget of about $10,000 we can daily feed 200 children for 1 year. That works our to about a quarter dollar a day per child. Most of these children go hungry for days on end. As you noted there were very many children who were malnourished, sickly, unschooled and neglected. They have been coming in hundreds for the football and sports outreaches we are doing in their areas. Our ladies( Hadassah) ministry is beginning to take an active role in realizing this dream of feeding the children, and reaching out to the girls and ladies in our Jerusalem through sports (football, netball, volleyball etc). This is such a progression in less than a month!!
