Update l Watch and Act - Tickner Road Castlereagh fire (Londonderry fire) An Watch and Act alert level has been issued for a 980 hectare fire burning in the area around Castlereagh and Londonderry, north west of Sydney. Current Situation The bush fire is burning in an easterly direction and earlier this afternoon burnt through Devlin and Nutt Roads in the Londonderry area. More than 200 firefighters are working to contain the fire particularly at Cranebrook Road, Castlereagh. There is no direct threat to property at this stage. Advice The fire is impacting on rural properties on Nutt, Smeaton and Boscobel Roads. The fire is burning on both sides of Devlin Road, between Fire Trail Road and Nutt Road. Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you do not have a Bush Fire Survival Plan, know what you will do if the fire threatens your property. If you plan to leave, leave early.
