Update on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Latest prognosis is that the knee injury will keep him out for two weeks -- a bit more specific than earlier indications of ten to 21 days. Its still in the balance whether he would be fit for the World Cup or not, but if hes able to play again (rather than merely train again) within 14 days, then that would give him a chance of playing in the second group game against Uruguay on June 19 if all goes well. With Fifa approval, teams can make a change up until 24 hours before their opening game (which Englands case means until June 13, 24 hours before they play Italy). Might make more sense to delay a decision until before they leave Miami for Rio on Saturday night. If he has a chance of being fit sooner rather than later, then he might well remain with the squad. If not, I think its more likely that Hodgson would promote one of Stones or Flanagan, who are already with the squad, rather than summon Carrick, Cleverley or Adam Johnson from the beach. But Oxlade-Chamberlains prospects look a little brighter than they did last night
