Update on Bill from Tina June 28, 2014: It has been a rough few days again on family and Bill. The doctors have tried having Bill swallow to see how well his vocal chords are healing. He was unable to swallow anything without aspirating it into his lungs. We are now in a holding pattern for awhile to see how well they heal, the swelling goes down, or if more surgery is needed to adjust his vocal chord function. For now he is still trached and on a feeding tube while he is unable to talk or swallow. It is scary and frustrating for Bill, so that is how family feels, too. Bill has progressed in his healing processes from the lobectomy enough to move to the 6th floor at Providence and out of C-ICU. Today marks 17 days in hospital. I have had to begin driving back and forth between Lewiston and Spokane most days now because the motel is getting too expensive. That has been one of the hardest things for the family to deal with because we want someone to be there or close by for Bill at all times. He has been taking comfort in listening to music (Classic Country and Native American healing songs) when I have my laptop available for him. We are hoping to purchase an IPod for him so that the music he loves so much is an option for him all the time. Today Sundie and John and Shawnee all came to visit Bill. He was so happy to see them. I am staying in Spokane until Monday afternoon so that I can catch the doctors early Monday morning and find out the plan for the week concerning Bill, then I will be driving back and forth again. Thank you so very much to each and every one of you who have offered donations, help, love, prayers, and support. It means more than we can ever express in words. The Creator has greatly blessed us with each one of you and please know how much we love you.
