Update on Junior Nationals 2014. First comp at 74kg class and I had an awesome days worth of lifting. Squat: Opened with 205kg - call the fire brigade, smokeshow on the platform 220kg got timed out. Walked out on to the platform late, belt was loose. Readjusted. I think a little rough with the replace call before the time actually buzzed out but no dramas 228kg third attempt for open record. Felt good. Bench 107.5kg - easy 112.5kg - felt great. 117.5kg - planned third was 115kg but 2nd attempt was smooth - good lift and 7.5kg PB Dead. Hadnt been feeling great for deads in my training last few weeks. 230kg opener. I knew that deads were on today 255kg. Junior national record, total record too. 275kg. Five red plates, open national record, unofficial world record. So close. Just lost my balance forward at the top. 600.5kg total, elite 1 grading. Roughly 433 wilks points. National Champion :) Thanks to everyone involved in putting this together. Too many to name but special mentions to my sis, Tang Fitness, Strength RiseUp, Woodford Sport Science Consulting and Matt Stewart. Big big shout out to Westron Muscular Therapiesfor keeping my shoulder/hamstring injuries under wraps for the passed few weeks. Really payed off with big PBs in bench and squat!! Watch the video through and you might get the sense that I really like lifting :) Still gotta decide if Im going to go down to 66kg or stay at 74kg for Oceanias in 14 weeks time :/
