Update on Mayors Town Hall Meeting..actually had a great meeting. I asked why was there no veterans advocate present? Mayor referred me to Congressman Yarmuths office. I told him thats federal. What is Lville doing for our veterans? Homeless, retired losing chunks of their pensions. Why not form a coalition to use the wisdom of our veterans w youth. Tap into established veteran groups to speak at schools. Lower tax rate so veterans are honored for their service. Give discounts to vets. I really said additional discounts & exemptions for veterans as well as for parents of the Fallen. Give retailers incenitives when they hire veterans. Donate delinquent tax properties for veterans to rehab for veteran housing. I was asked if I was conservative. I turned face to face smiling ... and what if I was? My platform is do the right thing. Accountability. Of course I did not know the majority attending were liberals. I smiled again. I wont hold that against you if you do the right thing. Police and firefighters, all councilmen, and anyone who looked like a veteran was thanked. Lord, you are so awesome! I am your humble servant. You continue to bless me. I was having church.
