Update on Mom...... Susie and I went to visit her this afternoon. After speaking with her last night she said she was bored and asked for us to go if only to break up the day. Shes on a cocktail of meds which although very strong, are doing her no good in terms of pain relief. The original idea was for her to be discharged tomorrow. It wont happen. If they kick Mom out fo the Spires they will have to find a bed for her at Solihull Hospital until I can sort something out (maybe Anne Marie Howes for a couple of weeks!). As things stand, the medication she has to take for pain has turned her into a gibbering zombie and shed be a danger to herself if she was here alone at any point. Richard and Jaz were going up to visit tonight and to ensure that the change of combination of meds I suggested has been put into place. Ill call tomorrow morning. If shes no better Ill contact Social Services to sort out a care package and take it from there. Other than the pain issue, medically Mom is fine. The surgeon is happy with how the operation went, there is no infection and they say shes done really well in terms of physio and being up and walking. It was clear to us when we visited though that maybe shes overdone it a little bit. Maybe easing off a little and being able to do the physio every day a few times is better than going full blast (or as full blast as is possible atm), then not being able to do the physio more frequently than onced every few days. Ill update as I get more info. To those who have sent inbox messages,prayers and well wishes - thank you so much. Thank yo also to the neighbours who have popped round to ask about Mom. Ive remember you all to her, although I doubt shell remember with the opiate cocktail shes ingesting atm xx
