Update on Mum.... I had a call today from the physiotherapist at SGH today to ask me about mums mobility etc prior to this fall, I told her. She then told me that Mum was being visited by the doctor today and the speech and language therapist so later someone will be able to give me a much better prognosis. I told her that would be good as I was coming up this pm to kick some arse and explained the saga so far. She said she would ensure that she passed this on to the senior charge nurse so they can make sure someone will be there to update me... I arrived along with my eldest, Sabrina. Mum was just telling me the name of the doctor when he walked in... He was very informative actually and understood my frustration of her care so far (probably just humouring me, I know) but he told me that over the next 3-4 days theyll be doing further tests: an MRI to get a more detailed scan of her head, theyre also going to check her heart, her resting and standing BP. Theyre also going to call the diabetic nurse in too in an effort to stabilise mums blood sugar. He assured me that they will include me in all discussions/decisions regarding mums discharge that wont be for a least a week from now ..... Dare I relax and worry less? Well see! However, mum was a lot more alert today and talking well. Theyre allowing her to eat and drink now albeit with thickeners in her drinks. She still collapses though when they try to get her to stand, even with an aid... More work on that front I think... Thanks again everyone for your well wishes and thoughts. Much appreciated xxx
