Update on Pastor Mike #pray4mike: Hi Everyone, This is Erin again, on behalf of Mike. Thank you for your faithful prayers. We wanted to share with you a list of praises as well as more prayer requests. Praises: 1. The Lord opened the doors for us to be at City of Hope with Dr. Lee 2. Mike did not have tumor in the small intestine 3. The source of the cancer was NOT the pancreas 4. Dr. Lee proceeded with the surgery and did not give up when the tumors were difficult to remove. 5. Dr. Lee and his team was able to remove 26 containers of tumor. Yes, 26 containers! 6. Mike has not had complications thus far, though his body sustained 16-17 hours of surgery and had his appendix, gall bladder, spleen and the majority of his colon removed. 8. Both chest tubes have been removed. One by one the tubes are coming out! 9. Mike has been able to get up and walk around several times a day 10. The pain is lessening Prayer Requests: 1. Bowel function to return. Mike is not permitted to intake food until this happens. 2. No problems with digestion once Mike begins eating again 3. Complication free recovery 4. Total healing of cancer. There were a couple slivers of tumor that Dr. Lee was unable to remove without endangering Mike. Please pray that the heated chemo destroys all that could not be surgically removed. We will not know what the chemo accomplished until a scan is performed (~2 months), but we are all very hopeful.
