Update on Sam Houston Elementary evacuation: Atmos Energy spokesman Michael Street reports crews have identified the source of the natural gas leak and are repairing the affected line. Steps were taken to clear the natural gas from the sewer lines around the affected area as well. The possibility of the natural gas entering the school building through the sewer lines prompted the precautionary evacuation, Street said. CISD is expected to update its plans for the campus later today. Students and staff from the campus were taken to Drane Intermediate School. Parents and guardians are encouraged by CISD to pick up their child at their earliest convenience. Children will be released only to authorized guardians.
